This workshop will be held in the new studio, Ha Lau Leo Nani, on the big island of Hawaii - Leo Nani Farms. Participants will enjoy beautiful farm lunches, time to relax and explore. Six hours of study each day. We'll have a welcome dinner at Mahana House at 7:00 on March 1 (see details in your welcome letter), and enjoy a closing dinner on the farm at the end of the retreat. Session Descriptions
Rhiannon will be teaching the improvisational exercises of Vocal River and will be providing the connective tissue to the work of Pura Fe';
a combination of vocal improvisation and traditional songs providing a beautiful and rich musical experience.
Pura Fe' believes song is power... prayer and connection.and she will bring a few songs to share that you all can sing together...
Simply sit together in a circle and begin everyday with tone exercises and learn to breath and hear each other. Learn the songs in pieces
and once you know them...you will add harmony and improvisation on top. You will make your own vortex.
We begin each day at approximately 10 AM with a physical and vocal warm-up, so be sure to wear comfortable clothing and walking shoes.
Also bring layers as the studio is open to the breezes. We pause for lunch aprox. 1 PM. The afternoon session is usually from 3 to 6.
This schedule allows for swimming and trips to cultural and nature sites during the week. Please be flexible and open to adventure.
